As the opening of Crescent Ridge was upon us, I was excitedly sharing the news of my veterinary hospital opening in lovely Zelienople with family and friends. When I shared this news, they had a lot of questions, but most commonly (and obviously), “what is it called?” Then -and I should have expected this- “Why?”
In choosing the name of the practice, I wanted something that reflected the caring nature of the practice and/or the beautiful area where we are located. Thus, after much ado, Crescent Ridge was chosen as the practice name for all it symbolizes.
Crescent was selected because a Red Crescent is synonymous with a Red Cross in some parts of the world, signifying relief, care, love. In using a crescent, it symbolizes that we will provide treatment and support to any and all who respectfully seek veterinary care. Loving and respecting everyone and every pet equally. (No Breedism here 🙂)
Ridge was chosen as a reminder of the many glacial ridges that contribute to the natural beauty of Western Pennsylvania (… And, specifically, Glacier Ridge Trail, as it is my favorite trail at Moraine State Park…Check it out!)
As I open the doors of Crescent Ridge Veterinary Hospital, I look forward to providing relief and loving care to the canine and feline companions of my Western Pennsylvania family and friends – old and new. Let the adventure begin!
