Brittany

Technician

Meet Brittany! Brittany works at Crescent Ridge as a part time veterinary technician, especially on Saturday mornings. She started her career as a vet tech at a small animal practice in 2012 while she was working on her pre-vet degree from Cal U. During her first summer as a technician, she traveled to South Africa to volunteer with a program called African conservation experience for 2 weeks. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2014. At that time, she started as a husbandry technician at the University of Pittsburgh. Since starting at the University, she’s worked in several departments and facilities, and is now the Senior Veterinary technician working as a clinical and surgical vet tech. During her time with the University of Pittsburgh, she’s received her certifications as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician, Laboratory Animal Technician, Laboratory Animal Technologist, and Surgical Research Anesthetist. Surgical intervention and understanding animal behavior are her favorite parts of veterinary medicine. When she’s not working, she’s busy caring for the mini-zoo she has at home, which includes 3 dogs, 6 cats, 2 rabbits, 2 ball pythons, an axolotl, and 2 chickens. When animals aren’t involved, she enjoys hiking, golfing, crafting, and traveling.
